I’m Angela (Ange) Meyer — a gender equity advocate, strategist and feminist innovator working across finance, business, the arts and government. I’m the eldest of four sisters, and my work has always been shaped by three enduring commitments: fun, community, and making things better for women.
My career began in culture and creativity. I co-founded the dance troupe The Real Hot Bitches, before going on to co-found and lead Double Denim, an internationally award-winning creative agency focused on harnessing the power of the female economy. Through that work, I became increasingly interested in how systems value women — and where money fits into that story.
That curiosity led me to finance, and specifically to women and money. Why do women, globally, have less of it? Why are women more likely to retire into poverty? How much of this is structural, cultural or psychological — and how can it be changed?
For the past decade, I’ve worked at the intersection of financial wellbeing, gender equity and systems change. I’m the co-founder of Hi Money, a programme that has supported thousands of women across Australasia to build financial confidence, clarity and security. Alongside my co-founder Rachel Davies, I helped pioneer an approach that starts with money psychology — the stories, emotions and social conditioning that shape how women relate to money — before moving into practical action. Our aim is simple and radical: more money in the hands of more women.
I’m also the co-founder of Project Gender, a feminist insights, research and campaign agency creating evidence-led change for women. Through Project Gender, I’ve led and contributed to nationally significant initiatives, including advocacy for the successful inclusion of a National Women’s Health Strategy into legislation; YouChoose2020, a nationwide survey and scorecard on what women want from elected representatives; and Mako Mama Mangopare, the most comprehensive research project to date on the needs and aspirations of single parents in Aotearoa New Zealand. In 2026, I’ll co-host Pocket Change, a new podcast series focused on pay equity.
My work in the trades sector has been a particular focus. Through Trade Careers, I helped design and deliver a programme that contributed to doubling the number of women entering trades within five years, translating gender equity insights into practical, measurable outcomes.
My work has been recognised nationally and internationally. I’m the winner of the Financial Services Council Emerging Trailblazer Award (2023) for my work on Hi Money and The Table, a three-time nominee for the Women of Influence Awards (2016, 2018, 2022), and the winner of the Australian Marketing Institute Creative Marketing Award (2019) for my work on Women and Superannuation. I’m a member of Global Women and a sought-after speaker on financial wellbeing, gender equity, leadership and innovation.
I’ve worked in senior roles local and central government. I have also developed political and communications strategy for four election campaigns.
I’m also an author. I wrote Sea Fever about my time sailing across the world with a one year old. My new book Money, Money, Money, co-authored with Rachel Davies and due for publication in March with Allen & Unwin.
I also love sailing with my husband and son, stalking around the hills and singing karaoke with friends.
